The Good: The texture is breathtaking, and we love designing with tall, slender stems! The small florets can be used in bouts, flower crowns, and corsages.
The Bad: Delphinium can be delicate and prone to shedding…a lot. Due to their delicate nature, they have a shorter vase life than some flowers. They don’t enjoy extreme heat, but prefer cooler temperatures.
- Give the stems a fresh cut, and hydrate in cool water.
- Store in a bucket by itself, and change the water daily.
Delphiniums are versatile, and they can be used as a filler or accent flower. Based on our design suggestions, here are our recommended quantities:
- Bridal Bouquet: 6-8 stems
- Maids: 3-5 stems
- Bouts: 1 floret
- Corsages: 1-2 florets
- Centerpieces: 3-5 stems
- Large Arrangements: 1-2 bunches
Flower Moxie reserves the right to make changes or substitutions. All substitutions are only done as a last resort, and only when the reasons for doing so are reasonable and genuine. For example, if a flower becomes unavailable (off-crop), incorrect color, or not in good condition to grace a wedding function we will substitute a flower that has a similar color and price-point.
